TEXAS HOLD’EM

The most popular poker game today.
With two private and five shared cards, a player may use any combination to make the best five-card hand.
HOLDEM
Brief At the beginning, each player is dealt two private cards, face-down. Then five community cards are dealt face-up in the center of the table. All players in the game use these shared community cards with their own private cards to each make their best possible five-card hand.
Blinds A hand starts with two blinds. The player immediately clockwise from the button posts the "small blind", the first forced bet. The player immediately clockwise from the small blind posts the "big blind".

Pre-Flop When the blinds are posted, each player is dealt two private cards face-down.

Then the betting starts with the player just to the left of the big blind. Each player has the option to fold their hand, call the current bet or make a raise. If no one makes a raise, the player in the big blind has the option to check their hand, meaning that player makes no bet but still retains their hand.

The Flop Once everyone has had an opportunity either to fold or match the betting, the betting for the pre-flop is equalized. Then three cards are dealt face up in the center of the table. These first three of the community cards are called “the flop”.

The second betting round takes place. In all following rounds, the betting starts with the first active player to the left of the button. The first player can check or bet. If no one bets, each player in turn has the same choices. If anyone bets, each succeeding player has three choices; fold, call, raise. If everyone has checked around or has had an opportunity either to fold or match the betting, the betting for the flop is equalized.

The Turn Once the betting for the flop is equalized, the fourth card is dealt face-up in the center of the table. This fourth community cards is called “the turn”.

The third betting round takes place. The betting proceeds same as the Flop.

The River Once the betting for the turn is equalized, the final fifth card is dealt face-up in the center of the table. This last community card is called “the river”.

The final betting round takes place. The betting proceeds same as the two previous rounds.

Showdown When the last betting round is complete, a showdown takes place. The player with the best hand(the best five cards combination of private cards plus the community cards) wins.

If there is a tie for the best hand, the pot will be split equally among the tied players.

Occasionally the pot cannot be split perfectly even. If there are any remaining chips left in the pot, the 'extra' chips will be awarded one at a time to the remaining players, starting with the player closest to the left of the button.
